Students seeking to complete PhD projects addressing the current and future needs of sports and Para-sports are encouraged to apply.

Established by donations from Marie and Alf Berry in memory of their granddaughter Helen Kay, a postgraduate research student who died in 1999 while completing her degree, the scholarship commemorates the work of a promising young scholar of Australian literature, life writing and the environment.

Established in 2006 in memory of Cecilie Anne Sloane, a former tutor and lecturer in the Department of English at The University of Queensland, and maintained by the income from a perpetual endowment fund setup by a gift from her brother-in-law, RF (Ron) Diamond, and her sister, HM (Helen) Diamond. The purpose of this scholarship
is to enable a Higher Degree by Research candidate to undertake English language creative writing research within The University of Queensland.

The Scholarship is open to Higher Degree by Research candidates whose thesis is focused on completing a collection of poems or poetry criticism or requires them to travel to conduct their poetry research.
