This scholarship is part of the UQ Residential Scholarships Scheme. You only need to submit one application to be considered for all scholarships in this scheme.
Eligibility
You're eligible if you:
- are a domestic student
- are a commencing student
- are from a rural or regional background
- are enrolled, or intend to enrol, in any bachelor program at UQ in the year the scholarship is awarded
- are a resident (or intends to be) at an Approved Accommodation Provider.
How to apply
Apply using the online application portal.
You'll need:
- evidence of financial hardship such as Centrelink Statements, ATO statements, family income, etc.
- regional/rural/remote residency (if applicable)

Selection criteria
Preference will be given to students who (in order of priority) -
- are from a rural or regional area
- are enrolled in a Program in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law

About this scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2022 by Alumni Friends in recognition of John Martin's (OAM) extensive service to Alumni Friends. Under the Queensland Commitment the annual distribtutions of the endowment support students experiencing financial hardship with the cost of residential fees.
