UQ PhD Industry Placement Scholarship

You're eligible if you:

• are a PhD candidate
• are receiving a UQ funded living stipend
• have successfully completed a Graduate School coordinated PhD Industry Placement of at least 60 working days*
• worked with the Graduate School to plan and registered your intent to undertake a HDR Placement by submitting and having your project brief approved via myUQ within 18 months of your program commencement date (36 months from your commencement if you are studying part-time).#
• Complete the HDR placement before your current stipend expires.  The Industry Placement Scholarship extends your existing stipend, so you must be holding your original living stipend when the extension is awarded.   Please keep this in mind while negotiating your placement dates with the host.

*Some students on UQ living stipends who also hold an industry top-up scholarship may be eligible—contact us to discuss. If you have a 4-year industry funded living stipend you will not be eligible for the placement scholarship, but you should be eligible for an extension to your living stipend from your industry partner.

# Formal agreements can be arranged after the 18 month mark. Placements can also commence later, as long as the project brief has been submitted and approved by the 18 month mark.
