Eligibility
You're eligible if you:
- are an international student.
- are a passport holder of Ghana, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Kenya, Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand or an eligible country in Europe^ or Latin America*.
^Europe: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, United Kingdom.
*Latin America: Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Bolivia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela, Cuba, Dominica Republic, Haiti, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Saint-Barthelemy, Saint-Martin, Jamaica, Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago.
And you:
- have applied to study full-time at UQ commencing in 2025 and have received an unconditional offer in an eligible program. This includes most undergraduate and postgraduate programs with some exceptions. Check the scholarship terms and conditions (PDF, 167KB) to find out if your program is eligible.
- have satisfied the program entry rank and English language proficiency requirements.
- have achieved a competitive score as determined by the University among the pool of offer holders for programs in their commencement semester.
- will enrol full-time.
And you have not:
- received another scholarship, tuition fee reduction or rebate from UQ.
- received a full scholarship/sponsorship from another organisation (applicants with partial scholarships/sponsorships may be considered).
How to apply
You don't need to apply for this scholarship. When you apply to study a program at UQ, you're automatically considered for this scholarship if you meet the eligibility criteria.
What happens next
If you are eligible, we will notify you that you're offered this scholarship together with your letter of offer to study at UQ. In this notification, we will let you know what date you have to accept the scholarship by. If you're awarded the scholarship, the 20% tuition fee reduction will be applied prior to the tuition fees due date each semester.
