Eligibility
You're eligible if you:
- are a female student
- are enrolled full-time in an approved engineering program (listed below)
- have completed at least 14 units but not more than 34 towards an approved program
- can demonstrate financial hardship (i.e., Centrelink statements, ATO notice, etc.)
- do not hold another scholarship that the Associate Dean Engineering or Associate Dean Science considers to be similar.
Approved Programs:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or associated engineering dual program in Mining Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or associated engineering dual program or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/ Master in Engineering in:
- Mechanical Engineering, or
- Electrical Engineering, or
- Chemical Engineering, or
- Civil Engineering.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Science with a major in Earth Science.

Selection criteria
We'll consider:
- demonstrated financial hardship
- personal and leadership qualities
- potential to succeed in the engineering, computer and/or science profession
- any other matter that the selection committee considers to be relevant.
Preference may be given to applicants who are:
- past recipients of a Rio Tinto Scholarship
- past participants in a Rio Tinto Internship.
