    Eligibility

    You're eligible if you:

    • are a female student
    • are enrolled full-time in an approved engineering program (listed below)
    • have completed at least 14 units but not more than 34 towards an approved program
    • can demonstrate financial hardship (i.e., Centrelink statements, ATO notice, etc.)
    • do not hold another scholarship that the Associate Dean Engineering or Associate Dean Science considers to be similar.

    Approved Programs:

    • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or associated engineering dual program in Mining Engineering
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or associated engineering dual program or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/ Master in Engineering in:
      • Mechanical Engineering, or
      • Electrical Engineering, or
      • Chemical Engineering, or
      • Civil Engineering.
    • Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Science with a major in Earth Science.

    Selection criteria

    We'll consider:

    • demonstrated financial hardship
    • personal and leadership qualities
    • potential to succeed in the engineering, computer and/or science profession
    • any other matter that the selection committee considers to be relevant.

    Preference may be given to applicants who are:

    • past recipients of a Rio Tinto Scholarship
    • past participants in a Rio Tinto Internship.
