Eligibility
You're eligible if you:
- are enrolled full-time in an approved program (see list below)
- have completed at least 14 units but no more than 34 in an approved program
- do not hold another scholarship that the Associate Dean Engineering or Associate Dean Science considers to be similar.
Approved Program:
- Bachelor of Information Technology or associated dual program
- Bachelor of Computer Science or associated dual program
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/ Master in Engineering or associated dual program in:
- Mechatronic Engineering; or
- Software Engineering.
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) or associated dual programs with a major in Computer Science or Mathematics
- Bachelor of Mathematics or associated dual programs.

Selection criteria
We'll consider:
- demonstrated financial hardship
- personal and leadership qualities
- potential to succeed in the engineering, computer and/or science profession
- any other matter that the selection committee considers to be relevant.
Preference may be given to applicants who:
- participated in Leaders@EAIT
- are past recipients of a Rio Tinto Scholarship
- are past participants in a Rio Tinto Internship.

This scholarship was established in 2017 and is maintained by an annual gift from Rio Tinto Services Limited.
