About this scholarship
This HDR travel scholarship was established in 2007 and is maintained by annual earnings from the RD Kitchen Perpetual Endowment Fund.
Eligibility
You are eligible if you are a Higher Degree by Research candidate studying in the field of music and have completed Progress Review 1.

Please download and complete the below application form and submit to music@uq.edu.au by 12pm (midday), Monday 31 March 2025.
Selection criteria
Your application will be assessed on:
- The merit of your proposed use of the scholarship;
- The significant and relevance of the proposed use of the scholarship to your Higher Degree by Research candidature;
- any other matters the selection committee sees fit.
Rules
This is a Philanthropic HDR travel scholarship and adheres to the terms and conditions outlined in the Schedule A Postgraduate Research Scholarships
All philanthropic scholarship recipients must adhere to the conditions of UQ research and travel scholarships, including reporting and progress requirements as well the current travel advice for HDR travel.
Holders of these philanthropic scholarships must acknowledge them in any paper that is published as a result of the research conducted while the recipient held the scholarship.
Donors may also invite the recipient to present or report on the work conducted as part of the scholarship, in which case they must comply or risk losing the scholarship.
The information you provide in your application is collected for the purposes of (1) assessing your eligibility for this scholarship, (2) selecting scholarship recipients, and (3) administration of the scholarship. The University of Queensland may disclose the information you provide to the Donor for the stated purposes.
