Eligibility

You're eligible if you:

  • are a domestic student
  • are enrolled full-time in an Approved Program
  • are a resident at an Approved Accommodation Provider
  • can demonstrate financial hardship by providing documentary evidence
  • have resided in North Queensland at the time of application.

How to apply

Apply using the online application form.

You'll need your:

  • QTAC reference number
  • evidence of financial hardship such as Centrelink statements, ATO statements, family income etc.
  • proof of regional/rural/remote residency.

Submit your application

You only need to submit one application to be considered for all scholarships in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme, UQ Residential Scholarship Scheme and Aspire Scholarship Scheme.

Each scheme has different application and offer dates. Before you apply, check the dates for each scheme to make sure you'll be considered for as many scholarships as possible.

Selection criteria

Preference will be given to applicants who have resided in a Preferred Region of North Queensland. As per the Rules, Preferred Region of North Queensland means the districts of Charters Towers, Hughenden and Cloncurry.

About this scholarship

Established in 2003 and maintained by the income from a bequest from the late Rachid Lahoud Arida.
