About this scholarship

This scholarship supports students who have experienced financial hardship and are starting university for the first time.

The Queensland Commitment Scholarship provides $7,000 per year to help with living costs while you study full time.

By satisfying the Financial Hardship criteria of the EAS, you’ll also get 5 entry rank adjustments.

At UQ, you can access support services to help you transition into university and stay on track throughout your degree, including academic skills support, wellbeing services, mentoring, and opportunities to connect with other students.

This scholarship is part of The Queensland Commitment, UQ’s long-term initiative to create more opportunities for students across Queensland. The aim is to increase access to education for students from regional, remote and low socio-economic backgrounds, and provide the support needed to succeed at university.

The Queensland Commitment Scholarship replaced the former UQ Link Scholarship.
