About this scholarship
The National Industry PhD Program (NiPhD) provides an opportunity for candidates to undertake a co-designed PhD research project with both university and industry participation, and the opportunity to be embedded in an industry setting, during their candidature.
The Round 7 of the National Industry PhD Program is now open with the call for project proposals from UQ Principal Advisors from 9 February to 20 March 2026.
**Please note that current and prospective students do not apply directly to the National Industry PhD Program**
Whilst a current or prospective PhD candidate may provide input into the development of a NiPhD project proposal, the UQ Principal Advisor is responsible to lead the development and submit the proposal.
How to apply
If you are a current PhD candidate, please contact your UQ Principal Advisor for further information.
If you are a prospective PhD candidate, available PhD projects supported by the National Industry PhD Program, will be listed on the Graduate Research Project website after the awards being announced, in June 2026.
