About this scholarship
Established by donations from Marie and Alf Berry in memory of their granddaughter Helen Kay, a postgraduate research student who died in 1999 while completing her degree, the scholarship commemorates the work of a promising young scholar of Australian literature, life writing and the environment.
Eligibility
The Scholarship is open to Higher Degree by Research candidates conducting research in the School of Communication and Arts and who are nearing the completion of their studies.

Selection criteria
Your applicantion will be ranked on the basis of:
- academic achievement and potential for scholastic success;
- how the scholarship will be used in furthering the applicant's research and professional development; and
- how the fund will provide financial assistance to support the submission of their thesis within 3 months.
