Tips for completing the application
  • Make sure your writing is clear and concise. Your application will be reviewed by academic staff who may not be within your discipline as well as non-academic staff, so use language targeted at a non-specialist audience.
  • Provide strong and clear justification for your proposed activity/travel.  Well-reasoned and logical explanations would significantly contribute to your success in being awarded.
  • Have a defined plan, with specific dates and locations; an unclear plan will not be viewed favourably.
  • Get the details right in your application. If there is lack of clarity in your application, you will not be contacted for clarification.
  • Enclose as much supporting documentation as you can, and ensure that it is as complete as possible. Applications with insufficient documentation will be disadvantaged.

Funding for travel is highly competitive and the number of applications invariably far outweighs available funds.
