About this scholarship

Established in 2009 in memory of the late Dr H. George Osborne AM, Dean of Veterinary Science at UQ from 1971 to 1972, and is maintained on trust by an annual donation by his family.

Eligibility

You are eligible for this scholarship is you are a domestic HDR student engaged in large animal research, including production, reproduction, surgery, pathology or medicine research in veterinary science.

  • academic achievement and potential for scholastic success;
  • any other matters the selection committee considers to be relevant to your future research development.

Rules

This is a Philanthropic HDR scholarship and adheres to the terms and conditions outlined in the Schedule A Postgraduate Research Scholarships

All philanthropic scholarship recipients must adhere to the conditions of UQ and RTP Research Scholarships Policy, including reporting and progress requirements as well the current travel advice for HDR travel.

Holders of these philanthropic scholarships must acknowledge them in any paper that is published as a result of the research conducted while the recipient held the scholarship.

Donors may also invite the recipient to present or report on the work conducted as part of the scholarship, in which case they must comply or risk losing the scholarship.
