Eligibility
You're eligible if you:
- are of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
- are enrolled as a full-time student in a program in the Faculty of Medicine and/or the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences
- are not holding another scholarship that the Pro-Vice-Chancellor considers to be similar.
How to apply
Apply using the online application portal.
You will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 800 words (details in application portal).
You may need to upload supporting documentation that shows your:
- financial circumstances (Centrelink statements, ATO statements, family income, etc.)
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status
- academic achievements and community service and/or leadership achievements.
You only need to complete one form to be considered for all scholarships under the UQ-ICS and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarships.

Selection criteria
The Bursary is awarded to the applicant showing greatest merit as demonstrated by:
- the strength and relevance of your funding request to your current academic studies
- academic achievement in studies to date
- demonstrated financial need
- any other matter that the selection committee considers relevant, including your community involvement and leadership potential.
