Eligibility
You're eligible if you:
- are enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine
- can demonstrate financial hardship
- do not hold another scholarship the Dean considers similar
- are from a Regional, Rural or Remote Area.

You'll need to provide a personal statement (of no more than 250 words) outlining:
- your background and circumstances
- your financial need
- your attempts to mitigate or overcome your difficulties.

Selection criteria
We'll consider:
- demonstrated financial need
- strength of your personal statement demonstrating how the scholarship will assist your completion of the Doctor of Medicine
- any other matter the selection committee considers relevant to your future success in your study.
About this scholarship
Established in 2024 through a gift from multiple donors from the Faculty of Medicine Class of 1973, together with Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland under the Queensland Commitment Scholarship Match Initiative. The Gift is made in honour of the Class of 1973 and their connection to The University of Queensland. A collective group of proud alumni, who are now in a position where they would like to give back to an Institution that served them well.
The Scholarship will be maintained by income generated from an endowment fund.
