Eligibility
You're eligible if you:
- are enrolled in the Master of Mental Health program
- are enrolled in the course entitled 'Mental Health Research Thesis 1' (PXMH7115) in Semester 1
- intend to enrol in the course entitled 'Mental Health Research Thesis 1' (PXMH7116) in either the following semester or the year immediately following
- are undertaking an Independent Mental Health Project in the broad research area of stress and trauma in the community or workplace
How to apply

In addition to the requirements set out in the selection criteria, your application should include:
- Literature review relevant to your proposed research.
- Aim of the research and research questions/ hypotheses.
- Study design that describes how your study is operationalised - you can use text or flowcharts/consort diagram to illustrate the design.
- Methodology that outlines the measures to be used, or examples of questions to be asked if a survey is to be used - include references if standardised scales are used.
- Data analysis and explanation of how the data will be evaluated (for example, quantities, qualitative, historical data, review style project and so on). Explain the method for you chosen data analysis approach.
- Potential impact of findings. The impact of stress and trauma is one of the areas of psychological research that has a 'black hole' in knowledge. Discuss the potential benefits of your project and its application to practice or knowledge or service delivery/policy.
- How your research might improve the quality of life of workers or community members.
- Timeline for the study.
Applications should not exceed 1500 words.

Selection criteria
We'll consider:
- the feasibility of the proposed project
- the contribution the learning is likely to make to the understanding of the impact of stress in the community or workplace
- other evidence that may be considered relevant by the selection committee.
Applications must be submitted in the form of a quantitative, qualitative or literature based research proposal of not more than 2 A4 pages.
