Description

The Winter Research Program is coordinated by the Student Employability Centre in conjunction with UQ research units and is hosted during the winter break.

Due to recent changes to the Academic Calendar, the 2020 Winter Research Program has had to be adjusted.  The following changes are now in effect and may still be subject to change:

  • Program is now due to commence on Monday 13 July
  • Projects will be offered for either a three (3) or four (4) week duration 
  • Scholars will receive $1,125 for a three (3) week project
  • Scholars will receive $1,500 for a four (4) week project
  • Applications will still close 26 April, 2020

Students are expected to participate in an ongoing research project or to undertake a substantial piece of supervised research activity.

Successful scholars will be required to undertake research activities between 20 and 36 hours per week and will receive a scholarship which is paid in one lump sum.

Eligibility

Research programs are open to undergraduate (including honours) and masters by coursework students who:

  • Are currently enrolled at UQ at the time of application; and
  • Will maintain ongoing enrolment at UQ for the entirety of the Summer and/or Winter Research Program (graduation may affect this); and
  • Are studying for a degree relevant to the research discipline; and
  • Have a high level of academic achievement.
