Award value:
Base stipend of $27,082 per annum (2018 rate), indexed annually, tuition fees, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

  • Eligibility

    To be eligible you must:

    • Be studying (or intend to study) full-time and onshore in Australia.
    • Be nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ.
    • Be assessed by the Graduate School as meeting all conditions for admission to the research higher degree program.
    • Not hold a qualification at the same or a higher level than the research higher degree program you are undertaking.
    • Not be receiving a living allowance award, scholarship or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the RTP Scholarship living allowance rate to undertake the PhD program.
    • Not be receiving a Commonwealth funded tuition fee scholarship.

    UQ Research Scholarships

These scholarships are funded by the Commonwealth Government to provide assistance for living costs to students during completion of a PhD. Scholarships are offered for projects which are aligned with recently awarded Category 1 project grants or DECRAs. Work with leading researchers, and learn to conduct research independently and think critically, while contributing to large projects of national significance.
