The following competitive scholarships are awarded to outstanding Indian students on the basis of academic excellence and extra-curricular activities. Students who are shortlisted for consideration may be required to participate in an interview.

  • Eligibility

    Undergraduate

    • Citizens of India, who normally reside in India and are not already undertaking any studies in Australia. Those studying English in Australia are still eligible to apply.
    • Students must not simultaneously hold another scholarship.
    • Students who have received an unconditional offer for a relevant undergraduate program and who are commencing students at UQ (the opportunity is not open to currently enrolled UQ students, or students studying at UQ on study abroad or exchange).
    • The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and high achieving students are encouraged to apply. Students must have a grade of 90% and also meet the UQ Math entry requirement.
    • Students must satisfy the UQ English Language Requirements for entry into the program.

    Students from a math/science background are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Postgraduate

    • Citizens of India, who normally reside in India and are not already undertaking any studies in Australia. Those studying English in Australia are still eligible to apply.
    • Students must not simultaneously hold another scholarship.
    • Students who have received an unconditional offer for a relevant postgraduate coursework program and who are commencing students at UQ (the opportunity is not open to currently enrolled UQ students, or students studying at UQ on study abroad or exchange).
    • The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and high achieving students are encouraged to apply.
    • Must have completed an undergraduate degree from a recognised institution with an average grade of 80%.
    • Students must satisfy the UQ English Language Requirements for entry into the program.
The School of Economics at The University of Queensland is offering scholarships for outstanding Indian students seeking admission into either an undergraduate program or postgraduate coursework masters program in economics. The school has established a strong connection with India, attracting high achieving students and we are proud of their contribution to the UQ student body.
