This scholarship is awarded to up to 17 outstanding Australian Year 12 students from non-selective government schools who are successful in gaining admission to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LLB(Hons)) or an LLB(Hons) dual degree at UQ for 2018. Offers of scholarships will be conditional on receiving an offer of a place and commencing study in 2018 in the LLB(Hons) program or an LLB(Hons) dual degree.

This scholarship will provide support to recipients including access to academic assistance, non-residential membership of a UQ college, professional networking opportunities, priority access to professional experience-building opportunities

  • Eligibility

    This scholarship is open to students who meet the following criteria:

    • be an Australian citizen or hold a Permanent Humanitarian Visa,
    • currently be completing your senior schooling in Australia at a non-selective government school,
    • have demonstrated significant educational, social and/or financial disadvantage,
    • intend to study the LLB(Hons) or an LLB(Hons) dual degree at UQ in 2018,
    • expect to gain admission to the LLB(Hons) in 2018 on the basis of predicted senior results and any applicable bonuses (i.e. expect to achieve a minimum Queensland Rank of 95 including all bonus ranks),
    • have not completed any prior tertiary study at bachelor level or higher (this does not include enrichment programs),
    • be available to participate in a formal interview during the September school break, and
    • be endorsed for the scholarship by the Principal of your school.
