Description

The Summer and Winter Research Programs are coordinated by the UQ Student Employability Centre (SEC) in conjunction with UQ research units and provide an opportunity for motivated and high achieving students to participate in an educational research experience.

During the program, students will team up with some of the University's leading academics and researchers to engage in research-related activities for a selected project.  In doing so, students have the opportunity to further develop and apply their degree specific knowledge whilst developing valuable research and professional capabilities. 

The Summer Research Program is offered during the Summer vacation period (November to February) and offers projects between 6 - 10 weeks in length.   Successful applicants will be required to participate between 20 and 36 hours per week for the duration of the research project.

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate and recieve a scholarship you must meet all of the following criteria:​

  • You are enrolled in an undergraduate, honours or masters by coursework program at UQ at the time of application; and
  • You will maintain ongoing enrolment in a program at UQ for the entirety of the Summer Research Program; and
  • You are studying for a degree relevant to the research discipline; and
  • You have a high level of academic achievement during your undergraduate degree.
