Description

This prize was established by Professor Sue Golding in 2018 to recognize and reward excellence in a peer-reviewed paper authored by a student. 

Eligibility

The prize is open to students who have submitted an application by the due date and are enrolled in one of the following programs: 

  1. Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Geological Sciences or Earth Sciences)
  2. Bachelor of Advanced Science (Honours) (Geological Sciences or Earth Sciences)
  3. Graduate Certificate in Mineral Resources
  4. Graduate Diploma in Mineral Resources
  5. Master of Mineral Resources
  6. Master of Philosophy
  7. Doctor of Philosophy

Non-SEES students enrolled in Master or Doctor of Philosophy with relevance to geochemistry are eligible for this prize.

How to apply

Please complete and submit the Sue Golding Postgraduate Geochemistry Prize online application form by 20th August 2021 at 11.59 PM AEST. Please ensure you've read the prompts in the application form and attach all relevant supporting documents before submitting your application. No late or incomplete applications will be considered.

All submissions will be kept confidential and only used for the purposes of assessing the prize.  

Selection criteria

Best peer-reviewed published paper on geochemistry as decided by the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences Research Committee.

  1. The first author of a published peer-reviewed paper either in 2020 or 2021. 
  2. The paper should be submitted under a UQ by-line.
