  • Eligibility

    Applicants must be either Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

    To be admitted as a candidate for the degree of DVClinSc, the applicants must:

    1. hold an approved degree in veterinary science with honours class IIA or equivalent;
    2. have completed 2 years of graduate clinical experience deemed acceptable by the residency program director;
    3. be eligible for registration as a veterinary surgeon with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland; and
    4. satisfy the Head of School and Dean of the Graduate School that the applicant is qualified for admission.

    In addition to the above criteria, successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate:

    • good written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills;
    • clinical experience and research interest in equine internal medicine, ideally in one of the research areas of the program supervisors and awareness and appreciation of relevant veterinary knowledge about the discipline;
    • understanding, motivation and commitment to the proposed program.

    Applicants to the program will be evaluated on the basis of their written application, an interview and referee reports. Applicants will be ranked by a panel of at least 3 members of School on the basis of their application and short-listed candidates will be interviewed either in person, or by telephone/skype. The highest ranked qualified candidate will be chosen by consensus.

    This scholarship round is for a Research Quarter 1 (January), 2018 commencement.
