The scholarship was established in 2016. The purpose of the scholarship is to support PhD candidates in the field of music with a preference towards projects benefitting a rural or remote region of Queensland.

An applicant is eligible for award if they are:

  • A PhD Student in the field of Music
  • Hold a full living allowance Scholarship
  • Is a Domestic Student

Preference will be given to applicants from and projects benefitting a rural or remote region of Queensland

This is a philanthropic HDR top-up scholarship and adheres to the terms and conditions outlined in the Schedule A Postgraduate Research Scholarships

All philanthropic scholarship recipients must adhere to the conditions of UQ research and travel scholarships, including reporting and progress requirements.

Holders of these philanthropic scholarships must acknowledge them in any paper that is published as a result of the research conducted while the recipient held the scholarship.

Donors may also invite the recipient to present or report on the work conducted as part of the scholarship, in which case they must comply or risk losing the scholarship.
