Scholarship description

Modular Timber Prefab Construction with Mass Timber Cores

The objective is to develop timber building systems comprising of mass timber cores and light timber framed residential prefab units for rapid construction. The project will comprise of system design as well as the development of plug-and-play connection systems. There will be a substantial experimental component to test the interface connectors and module prototypes, as well as some finite element modelling of mid- and high-rise system-behaviour.


To be eligible, you must meet the entry requirements for a higher degree by research.

Selection criteria

A suitable candidate would have a background in structural timber engineering with a Bachelor of Honours or Masters degree.
