The award is named in honour of the late Dr John Holliday who pioneered aquaculture and fish conservation issues within the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) in New South Wales.

The award is designed to encourage postgraduate students who are researching in areas of relevance to the department.

The award is open to postgraduate, honours or HDR students who:

  • were enrolled at an Australian university during the year of award
  • undertook fisheries-orientated research work in New South Wales.

To be considered, you must have completed, or be completing, research or studies relevant to the award program and administered through an Australian university.
