  • Eligibility

    • Candidates must be an enrolled and confirmed PhD candidate in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, studying in the field of social work or human services.
    • Candidates must provide a plan indicating how the scholarship would be spent furthering the applicant’s research and research development. The plan must involve travelling to visit an overseas university, organisation or institution.
    • Candidates who have previously held a Graduate School Research Travel Award are generally not eligible to apply. A case of exceptional circumstances may be made.
    • Awards will not be made retrospectively.
    • The selection committee will consider the quality of the applicant's work during their entire postgraduate career and the student’s plan.
    • The successful applicants will be selected by a committee, chaired by the Director of Research Higher Degrees, NMSW. The committee will be comprised of the Head of School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, the Director of Research Higher Degrees, a member of the School Research Committee and a representative of postgraduate students in the School. 
The Scholarship was established in 1998 by a Bequest to the University under the will to the late Leslie Campbell-Brown to encourage postgraduate research studies overseas.
