Description

This scholarship is available for high achieving offshore students from Hong Kong (SAR), India, Indonesia, Japan, Macau (SAR), Malaysia, Philippines, Republic of Korea (South Korea), Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam who are commencing a relevant degree program at The University of Queensland in Semester 1 or 2, 2022 (check scholarship rules). With this scholarship you will receive a A$5000 tuition fee discount per semester for the first two semesters.

Eligibility

An applicant is eligible for the award of a scholarship, if the applicant:

  • is an international student (a student who is not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian Permanent Resident);
  • has applied to undertake studies at UQ on a full-time basis in a relevant program commencing Semester 1 or 2, 2022 and has received an offer;
  • will enrol full time;
  • is an international passport holder of Hong Kong (SAR), India, Indonesia, Japan, Macau (SAR), Malaysia, Philippines, Republic of Korea (South Korea), Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam.
  • has satisfied the program entry rank and English language proficiency requirements;
  • has not received another scholarship from UQ;
  • has not received a full scholarship/sponsorship from another organisation (applicants with partial scholarships/sponsorships will be considered at the University’s discretion);
  • has achieved a competitive score as determined by the University when ranked among the pool of offer holders for programs in their commencement semester.

How to apply

  • Students who meet the eligibility criteria will automatically be considered.
  • Awarding of this scholarship is competitive and merit based.
  • Students with conditional offers must satisfy all stipulated conditions for this scholarship to take effect.
  • Students offered the scholarship will be notified by email and will have until the deadline specified in the email to accept.
  • Students who do not accept by the due date will not be considered for future scholarship offer rounds.
  • The A$10,000 tuition fee reduction will be split into two A$5,000 amounts and applied across the first two semesters of the program.
