Description

At IMB we seek a diverse group of students with a genuine interest in tackling the global challenges of overcoming Antibiotic Resistance and decoding Genes and Genomes.

In 2022, up to five IMB Global Challenge Scholarships are available for each theme.

This scholarship is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents and international students who are currently in Australia at the time of application and commencement. Find out more.

Candidates who meet UQ’s academic entry requirements, including an approved academic degree, academic excellence, and relevant research experience are encouraged to submit an IMB internal expression of interest (EOI).

If your IMB internal EOI is successful, you will be put in touch with your chosen principal advisor, and together, you will lodge an application formally to UQ for entry into UQ’s Doctor of Philosophy program and scholarship support. We will guide you through these later steps.

Timelines

  • Submit EOI by August 15
  • Potential Principal advisors may contact you to request further information by early September 2021
  • Applicants notified of outcome mid to late Sepetember 2021

Eligibility

To be eligible you must:

  • be nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ
  • be assessed by UQ as meeting all conditions for admission to the higher degree by research program.

How to apply

  1. Read the project titles and further information provided by supervisors
  2. Choose three projects you are interested in and place them in order of preference.
  3. Write a 150-200 word summary on your interest in the program
  4. Attach a short CV and academic transcript (Please follow these guidelines to build your academic CV).

 

If your EOI is shortlisted you will be invited to submit a formal application to UQ.
