The successful candidate may be offered a top-up stipend to bring the total to $35,000 per annum. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to supplement this stipend with paid casual tutoring.

  • Eligibility

    To be eligible you must:

    • Be studying full-time and onshore in Australia.
    • Be nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ.
    • Be assessed by the Graduate School as meeting all conditions for admission to the research higher degree program.
    • Not hold a qualification at the same or a higher level than the research higher degree program you are undertaking.
    • Not be receiving a living allowance award, scholarship or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the RTP Scholarship living allowance rate to undertake the research higher degree program.
    • Not be receiving a Commonwealth funded tuition fee scholarship.

Professor Zhao’s research focuses on nanoporous materials for energy and environmental applications. The overall objective of his research program is to develop tailor-designed advanced porous materials with prescribed structural, surface, and morphological properties for emerging applications. Professor Zhao’s research has been recognised by honours and awards, such as 2016 Thomson Reuters highly cited researcher, Fellow of The Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), and the Thousand Talent Professorship of the Chinese Government.
