Scholarship description

Established in 1995 from a fund that includes a bequest of $25,000 to the University under the will of Professor D.P. Singhal, who taught Indian History at the University for 25 years, and contributions from friends and colleagues of Professor Singhal.

The Scholarship is awarded every 3 years by the Senate on the recommendation of the Head School of Historical and Philosophical Inquiry to a resident in India to enable them to attend the University for a short period in order to further their research interests.

Eligibility

The object of the Scholarship is to enable a scholar usually resident in India to attend the University for a short period to further the scholar’s research interests in history.
