Description

This scholarship is made possible by donations received in the memory of Cecil Hampship English to support Higher Degree by Research Students undertaking research in the fields of Psychiatric illnesses, Schizophrenia and Manic Depression.

Eligibility

The Scholarship is open to higher degree by research students undertaking research in the fields of Psychiatric illnesses, Schizophrenia and Manic Depression.

How to apply

Candidates will be considered for this scholarship when you apply for a higher degree by research program at UQ in the next scholarship round. Follow the same instructions as for the Graduate School Scholarships 

Selection criteria

Applicants will be ranked on the basis of:

  • academic achievement and potential for scholastic success;
  • the potential for the proposed use of the fellowship to advance research in the field of psychiatric illness, schizophrenia and manic depression; and
  • any other matters the selection committee sees fit.

This is a philanthropic HDR living plus scholarship and adheres to the terms and conditions outlined in the Schedule A Postgraduate Research Scholarships

All philanthropic scholarship recipients must adhere to the conditions of UQ research and travel scholarships, including reporting and progress requirements.

Holders of these philanthropic scholarships must acknowledge them in any paper that is published as a result of the research conducted while the recipient held the scholarship.

Donors may also invite the recipient to present on the work conducted as part of the scholarship, in which case they must comply or risk losing the scholarship.
