  • Eligibility

    The scholarship is open to students who will be enrolled full-time in the first semester of the MD program in the year of the award.

    The scholarship is awarded, at the discretion of the selection committee, to the applicant showing the greatest merit as demonstrated by -

    1. financial need; and
    2. academic achievement in the relevant entry program as required by the entry requirements of the MD program; and
    3. personal qualities including leadership potential; and
    4. participation in community activities such as social projects, team sport or voluntary community work; and
    5. other evidence as may be deemed relevant by the selection committee to the applicant's future success in the medical profession.

    NB: Per the current rules, this scholarship is NOT available to NZ citizens.

Established in 2007 and maintained by an annual gift from the Bashford/Sinnott Family, to encourage and assist a meritorious financially disadvantaged student to undertake the Doctor of Medicine (MD).
