The purpose of these bursaries is to support a University of Queensland student identifying as Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, Bisexual, Intersex or Queer.

  • Eligibility

    An applicant is eligible for a bursary if the applicant –
    (a)  submits an application;
    (b)  Identifies as Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, Bisexual, Intersex or Queer;
    (c)  is currently enrolled as a full time student;
    (d)  is experiencing significant financial hardship;
    (e)  is not in receipt of a scholarship that the Director deems similar: and
    (f)  has demonstrated commitment to the LGBTIQ community.

The bursary was established in 2013 and maintained by gifts from donors including UQ Staff, alumni and friends.
