Eligibility
You're eligible if you:
- are enrolled in any program at UQ in the year of the award; and
- can demonstrate financial hardship by providing documentary evidence.
How to apply
Applications for Semester 1, 2026 will open in December.
You'll need evidence of your financial circumstances, such as:
- a Centrelink Statement showing the benefit type(s), the date it was granted and the payment rate(s), and/or
- employment payslips for the past two months (i.e. past 8 weekly payslips/past 4 fortnightly), and/or
- Australian Taxation Office Notice of Assessment for the most recent financial year.
Selection criteria
We'll consider evidence of financial hardship.
Preference will be given to applicants who have:
- a usual place of residence or a past place of residence in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam; or
- a migrant family background.
